“T.K.O. – Technical Knockout,” the second single from RBC forthcoming EP—a piece inspired by the discipline, movement, and spirit of Muay Thai.

The track opens with the sound of the Pii, the traditional reed instrument performed during the Wai Kru ceremony in Muay Thai. Its call is used to honor teachers and ancestors before a fight. This ceremonial moment sets the tone of respect and focus before the music shifts into a sharp, funk-driven rhythm.

“T.K.O.” blends Thai percussions, metallic textures, and deep rhythmic patterns to mirror the footwork, precision, and controlled aggression inside the ring. The music moves through phases of tension, impact, and disorientation—capturing the moment after taking a clean hit and the instinctive fight to stay present.

The final section rises with clarity and determination, reflecting the momentum of a fighter regaining balance and pushing toward a decisive finish. Rather than celebrating victory with excess, the track closes with grounded confidence and calm resolve.

With “T.K.O.”, RBC continues to expand its contemporary cross-cultural sound—rooted in Thai tradition yet shaped for a global audience. The track offers a focused, cinematic interpretation of the Muay Thai experience translated into a modern instrumental landscape.

“T.K.O. – Technical Knockout” is the second track from RBC’s upcoming EP, with more music and visuals to follow.

Himmphan Overture (โหมโรงหิมพานต์) - Rattanakosin Breakin Crew

“Himmphan Overture” unfolds as a sonic odyssey through the mythical Himmaphan Forest, the celestial realm between heaven and earth in Thai mythology, inhabited by mystical creatures and hybrid spirits of nature.

The piece opens in a dreamlike haze, where the echoes of mythical beasts ripple through the air. Amidst the awakening of the forest, the deep, ancient voice of the shofar horn emerges, not merely as a beginning but as a ritual awakening. It calls the listener back to the roots of human culture, to a time when sound, spirit, and nature were one, before leading us forward into the modern evolution of rhythm and identity.

Blending the raw timbre of ancient instruments such as the shofar horn, Thai percussions, and ambient textures, Rattanakosin Breakin Crew crafts a vivid soundscape that bridges the spiritual and the earthly. The composition breathes with life: the stirring of nature, the flight of celestial beings, and the timeless harmony that binds myth to modernity.

As the opening chapter of the journey, “Himmphan Overture” stands as a gateway where imagination meets tradition, and the eternal pulse of Thai heritage merges with the boundless expanse of contemporary global sound.
It serves as the first track of Rattanakosin Breakin Crew’s forthcoming EP, marking the beginning of a new sonic chapter that will soon be released to the world.

FULL BIO :

Rattanakosin Breakin Crew (รัตนโกสินทร์ เบรคคิน ครูว์) is a Bangkok-based Thai cross-culture contemporary instrumental band formed in 2019, emerging from a circle of musicians with diverse backgrounds. The group redefines Thai roots music for the modern world, blending the vibrant sounds of Luk Thung, Molam, Klong Yao, and Talung with influences of funk, soul, psychedelic rock, rare groove, and world-rhythm improvisation — creating a cross-cultural soundscape that bridges tradition and innovation.

RBC’s performances are a living dialogue between heritage and modernity — where ancient percussion grooves collide with hypnotic basslines, brass harmonies, and improvisational energy. Their sound transforms Thailand’s folk heritage into a global groove, reflecting the rhythm and soul of a new generation deeply connected to its cultural roots.

Over the years, RBC has expanded its creative universe through collaborations that unite music, culture, and movement. The band joined forces with Fairtex Muay Thai on “TKO”, a powerful crossover between traditional fighting rhythm and contemporary funk energy; collaborated with Thai National Artist Kwanjit Sriprachan, bridging generations through a live reinterpretation of Thai roots heritage; partnered with Preduce Skateboards on the short film “Sajai”, blending live instrumentation with Thai street and skate culture; and worked with legendary Japanese-Thai producer Hideki Mori on “Root Saren” — a special project initiated by the Creative Economy Agency (CEA). The collaboration draws inspiration from the fusion of Southern Isan folk rhythm Kantrum with modern arrangement, symbolizing the meeting point between tradition and innovation.

In 2024, RBC’s live recording “TUMBIA (Live)” was featured on the 2nd volume of “Molam Village – Live Recordings from the Fields at Wonderfruit 2023” — a collaborative vinyl release by Wonderfruit Festival × Zudrangma Records. The track captures the band’s Thai-Cumbia fusion spirit, inspired by Luk Thung rhythms and Latin tropical grooves — a moment that reflects their ongoing journey of blending Thai roots with global sounds.

With each beat and breath, Rattanakosin Breakin Crew carries Thai sounds across places and people — not to cross borders, but to dissolve them.

Rattanakosin Breakin Crew x Hideki Mori (2024)

“ROOT SAREN (ลู้ดสะเร็น)” : Live Session (Isan Soundup project by CEA)

Rattanakosin Breakin Crew collaborated with the legendary Japanese-Thai producer Hideki Mori on the track “Root Saren”, a special project initiated by CEA (Creative Economy Agency).

Since 1999, Hideki Mori has worked under “Hideki Mori Studio”, producing for some of Thailand’s most influential folk and alternative artists including Caravan (คาราวาน), Mongkol Utok (มงคล อุทก), Arak Apakat (อารักษ์ อาภากาศ), Maleehuana (มาลีฮวนน่า), Jama (ฌามา), Prateep Khachatphan (ประทีป ขจัดพาล), and Keetanchalee (คีตาญชลี).

This collaboration bridges generations — combining Rattanakosin Breakin Crew’s contemporary instrumental sound with Hideki Mori’s deep roots in Thai folk production, resulting in a unique and powerful musical journey.

Rattanakosin Breakin Crew x PREDUCE SKATEBOARDS (2023)

“SAJAI” VDO (Music by RBC)

Rattanakosin Breakin Crew provided the music for PREDUCE SKATEBOARDS’ 7th full-length video “SAJAI.” The video features standout parts from Joseph Sirinut and Jasper Dohrs, filmed and edited by Janchai Montrelerdrasme, with art by TRK and motion graphics by BUJUGURU.

The soundtrack includes “Technical Knockout (T.K.O.)” & “Incredible Klongyao” by Rattanakosin Breakin Crew — blending Thai instrumental roots with contemporary beats to amplify the energy of Thailand’s skate scene.

Rattanakosin Breakin Crew x CEA : “Incredible Klong Yao” – Sound of the City Project (2020)

Rattanakosin Breakin Crew collaborated with the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) on the original composition “Incredible Klong Yao” as part of the nationwide Sound of the City project. The initiative employed 100 musicians across Thailand to create new works inspired by their local neighborhoods, helping to support the country’s creative industry during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The piece draws inspiration from the cultural and musical heritage of Rattanakosin Island, a historic district that has evolved with modern urban life while preserving its unique Thai identity. The band reinterpreted the traditional Klong Yao (a drum style originating from Burma during the early Rattanakosin period) — traditionally played in parades and festive occasions — blending it with contemporary instrumentation to reflect the dynamic coexistence of tradition and modernity.
